Frequently asked questions
Dryer vent cleaning, safety, and what to expect from Capital Region.
Safety & Prevention
How often should I clean my dryer vent?
The NFPA and most dryer manufacturers recommend once a year. If you have a long duct run, pets, or a large household doing 5+ loads a week, every 6–9 months is safer.
Can a clogged dryer vent really cause a fire?
Yes. Lint is highly flammable. The U.S. Fire Administration reports thousands of dryer fires each year, and clogged vents are a leading cause. Annual cleaning is the single best prevention step.
What are warning signs my vent needs cleaning?
Clothes taking longer to dry, the laundry room feeling hot or humid, a burning smell, excess lint behind the dryer, or the outside vent flap not opening when the dryer runs.
Service & Scheduling
How long does a cleaning take?
A typical single-family home takes 45–60 minutes, start to finish. We arrive in a 4-hour window and text you 30 minutes before we pull up.
Do I need to be home during the service?
Someone 18+ should be home to let us in and confirm access to the dryer and exterior vent. We can work around your schedule with morning or afternoon windows.
Will you make a mess?
No. Our negative-air vacuum captures debris at the source. Shoe covers on, drop cloths down. You'll barely know we were there — except your dryer will work better.
Pricing
How much does a cleaning cost?
Standard residential cleanings start at $179 flat. Longer duct runs, rooftop vents, and condo high-rises are quoted upfront before we start. No surprise fees, ever.
Do you offer commercial or multi-family pricing?
Yes. We service apartments, HOAs, property managers, and commercial laundry facilities. Contact us for a custom quote based on unit count and vent layout.
What to Expect
What does the technician do during a visit?
We inspect the full duct run, clean from both the interior and exterior where accessible, test airflow, and verify the exterior termination is clear. We leave a before/after airflow reading when possible.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed in every state we serve, $2M liability insurance, and workers' comp on all W-2 technicians. We'll email a certificate of insurance before the job if your HOA or insurer requires it.
